Tegucigalpa, August 7, 2019.- With an interesting agenda and large participation, “Innovation Week in America 2019” was held in Montevideo, Uruguay. The event focused on advances in innovation through Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

At the event, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) participated in the panel denominated, “Technology for economic efficiency in agricultural value chains,” in order to broaden knowledge of trends, promote dialogue and particularly provide support to the most relevant value chains in each of the regions.

Within the framework of the week, it was intended to establish lines of cooperation and collaborative work among the International Telecommunications Unit, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and other key actors to promote digital innovation in rural environments. Noteworthy actions of the forum include the positive impact of ICTs in reducing costs, processes, promotion of employment, procurement and sale of agricultural products, prevention of risk from natural disasters and others.

CABEI carries out noteworthy efforts in the construction of a sustainable future, while maintaining its commitment to innovation, research and knowledge transfer for the regional environment.
