Alejandro Rodríguez Zamora
Mr. Alejandro José Rodríguez Zamora, Executive Vice President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), holds a Master of Laws (LLM Common Law Studies) degree with emphasis in International Business Transactions in the Law Center of Georgetown University, Washington, DC; and a Licentiate in Law - Notary Public degree from the School of Law of the University of Costa Rica and has continued to expand his knowledge in management and corporate governance.
He has extensive experience in the field of international cooperation on issues such as poverty, governance, gender, environment and energy.
Mr. Rodriguez Zamora successfully started his career in the Central American Bank for Economic Integration in 1994, holding positions such as Legal Officer, Assistant to the Executive President and General Legal Counsel. In January 2010 he assumed the position of Executive Vice President of CABEI, a position for which was reelected for another five year term.
Mr. Rodríguez Zamora is member of the board of CABEI Central American Fund plc and North American Income Fund plc, both domiciled in Dublin, Ireland; he has been Member of the Board of Directors of Banco Popular in the Republic of Honduras.
Mr. Rodríguez Zamora has been a dedicated promoter of human development initiatives that increase the impact of the Bank's operations in the region. Maintaining CABEI´s heading towards the fulfilment of its Institutional Strategy for 2010-2014, “Competitiveness with Integration and Social Development”, ensuring that CABEI´s interventions are key to the sustainable economic and social development of the Central American countries, such as gender equality, competitiveness and foreign investment.
Before assuming the position of Executive Vice President at CABEI, Mr. Rodriguez Zamora was the Legal Adviser of the National Stock Exchange S.A. of San José, Costa Rica.
