With profound sorrow, the Governors, Board of Directors, and Executive Vice President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration regret to inform that this morning, May 30, 2008, our Executive President, Dr. Harry Brautigam Ortega passed away while returning from official duties.

The loss of Dr. Brautigam has left a large vacuum for our institution because of the leadership, professionalism, and guidance that our President contributed to the administration of CABEI.

President Brautigam assumed leadership of this institution in September 2003 and during his tenure CABEI achieved unprecedented results.

We express our deepest sympathies to Dr. Brautigam’s wife, children, and family for the irreplaceable loss of our dear Harry.
